The first step was to research competitors and popular car sales websites, such as CarSales, to get an idea of the current market trends and user behavior. This helped me to understand the current state of the industry and the needs and preferences of users.
I also looked for data on the most popular vehicles in Australia, including their features, price, and performance. This information helped me to understand the most commonly used vehicles in the country and their suitability for different purposes.
Next, I conducted online research to identify the features that users typically consider most important when choosing a vehicle. This included things like fuel efficiency, safety features, and cargo capacity. By analyzing user reviews and surveys, I was able to identify the most important features and incorporate them into the wizard flow.
To develop the wizard flow, I started with ten questions, covering a range of topics such as where the user normally drives and their safety preferences. However, based on feedback from contemporaries, I narrowed down the questions to six, which provided a more focused and streamlined experience for the user. The six questions that I included in the wizard flow covered the user's budget, location, transmission preferences, fuel type, number of passengers, and cargo needs. These questions provided a strong foundation of knowledge that could accurately guide the user to ideal vehicles in their area, whether they were looking for a daily driver, family vehicle, or commercial vehicle.
